Ute Lemper is a multifaceted artist, known for her career that ranges from theater to music, from cinema to dance. Born in Münster, Germany, she studied dance and acting in Cologne and Vienna. She achieved great success playing iconic roles such as Grizabella and Bombalurina in Cats in Vienna, Sally Bowles in Cabaret in Paris (for which she won the Molière Award), and Peter Pan in Berlin. She also acted in productions such as The Blue Angel and collaborated with great directors and choreographers, including Maurice Béjart and Pina Bausch.

Her solo performances, such as Kurt Weill Recitale Berlin Cabaret Evening, have taken her to the world's most prestigious stages, including La Scala in Milan, the Barbican Center in London, and Lincoln Center in New York. She has collaborated with international symphony orchestras and has recorded numerous albums, including Ute Lemper Sings Kurt Weill and City of Strangers. She has received major awards, such as Billboard Magazine's Crossover Artist of the Year in 1993/94.

In cinema, she has starred in films such as Peter Greenaway's Prospero's Books and Robert Altman's Pret à Porter, while on television she has appeared in productions such as Roger Waters' Tales from the Crypte The Wall.

She also published her autobiography The Time Traveler in 2023 and participated in the film Eterno visionario by Michele Placido the year after.
She continues to pursue various projects including Ute Lemper sings Kurt Weill and Rendez vous with Marlene.
